Cincinnati Rules Croquet
| Starting a Game | |
| A player places his ball anywhere
behind the first wicket adjacent to the Main Stake and strikes. If the player passes the
both of the wickets in a single stroke, he is awarded 2 continuance strokes. If the player
chokes on his opening hit, that is, misses either wickets one or two, he is awarded a
"Mulligan" and may restart the game without penalty. Only ONE Mulligan is
permitted per game and ONLY at the start of the game. If the player chokes again, he must
play on and try to recover from his mistake. It pretty much Standard Operating Procedure to have 2 continuance strokes at the start of a game. |
